Our Services
Binary solutions feel right because they sound easy, hold the promise of quick results and because they are all-or-nothing options they minimize our fear of change by tapping into our “rip off the bandage” script.
Warning signs that we’re advocating for a binary solution include our language (e.g. using “need,” “should” “have to” when discussing our solution) and our behavior either through confirmation bias or playing the psychological game, “why don’t you… yes, but”) in which we discount suggestions from our colleagues with “yes but” and a “reason” why their suggestion won’t work.

The shape of a silhouette, the stitch on a hem, the colour of a garment — these elements of clothing design are more than esthetic choices for Indigenous artist Yolonda Skelton of the Gitxsan Nation.
Together they can provide a glimpse into the life of a person, a clan, and a nation, she says, and these stories take centre stage at the Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week, which returns for its second edition on Monday.
A key showcase will be Monday's opening night gala dedicated to missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and members of the two-spirit LGBTQ community.
